Alannah & Max
Ceremony
Unfortunately the rain drowned out (haha) most of the ceremony, but we wanted to share it here for those who missed it.
This is as it would have been read without the rain.
Welcome everyone! Today we are having an unplugged ceremony, to best live in the moment we are asking everyone to keep their phones away and enjoy this special experience together.
On behalf of Alannah & Max, I would like to start by welcoming and thanking you for being here with them on this important day.
Max and Alannah have chosen to celebrate their love of eleven years in your presence as they (finally!) get married on Alannah’s childhood property. They have spent many occasions back here walking the dogs, building snow forts, roasting smores over the campfire, building the bunkie and simply enjoying the outdoors together.
From road trips through Manitoulin Island, Michigan, and New England, to vacationing in PEI and Nova Scotia, their joint appreciation and enjoyment of nature has been a cornerstone of their relationship and growth together. Today they start their hike down a new trail, one that promises adventure, discovery, and beauty at every turn. With every step they take, may they find joy in the journey, strength in each other, and a love that grows as wide as the landscapes around them.
Max and Alannah wanted everyone to know how much your presence means to them today, and how significant the love and support you have given them over the last ten years is to them. They wanted to return the support you have given them in the form of these benches supporting you today during their ceremony! With wood that has come from the forest surrounding you now - and help from Alannah’s dad, David - Max and Alannah chose to hand-craft the benches you are sitting on today as a gesture of gratitude for your support.
We’re all here — because we want a lifetime of beautiful moments for you. We’re here to hope with you, to support you, to be proud of you, and to remind you that love is the experience of forging your own trail together.
Please look down at each other’s hands, so that you may see the gift that they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you. These are the hands holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it, support and encouragement to pursue your dreams, and comfort through difficult times.
You're about to make promises to each other that you intend to keep. You're going to vow to take care of each other, to stand up for one another, and find happiness in the other.
Max: Alannah, I promise to keep you as my favorite person — to laugh with you, go on adventures with you, support you through all life's moments, be proud of you, grow old with you, and find new reasons to love you every day.
Alannah: Max, I promise to keep you as my favorite person — to laugh with you, go on adventures with you, support you through all life's moments, be proud of you, grow old with you, and find new reasons to love you every day.
Will you, both, be each other's partners from this day forward? Will you bring out the best in one another, share your happiest moments together, and love each other absolutely? We will.
I will now ask you to seal the vows you have shared with each other through the exchange of rings. Whenever either of you looks at this symbol, I hope that you will be reminded of your commitment to love each other.
You will place the rings on eachother's fingers and repeat after me: You are my love and my best friend. May this ring always remind you, that you will be surrounded by my love.
You may now kiss!
They have asked for Caitlyn and Anna to both come up to witness their marriage.
While Caitlyn and Anna sign the license, Max and Alannah would like to give you the opportunity now to snap a quick photo! You will all be sure to receive photos from today in the future.
It is my privilege and great joy to be able to officially introduce Max and Alannah as husband and wife!
